This group was formed to give ceramic enthusiasts a way of coming together. Clay People membership includes area potters, students, ClaySpace resident artist members and others who are interested in learning more about ceramics. The group works to meet the interests and needs of its members. Clay People is a great way to meet other ceramic “people”. The Club is open to all and has gatherings, social events, workshops, an annual competition, field trips, and a way to give back to the community through Empty Bowls our annual charity event.

The Clay People host guest artist workshops and provide continuing education in ceramics. Workshops and ClaySpace classes are discounted to Clay People members. Previous guest artists include: Ian Currie, Dick Lehman, Leah Leitson, Mary Kay Botkins, Susan Anderson, Tim Ludwig, Sarah Jaeger, Paul Lewing, Eric Jenson, Christine Rabenold, Steven Hill and many others.

The Clay People provide sales and exhibit opportunities. Each year The Clay People host two fund raising sales at The College of DuPage and members are included in at least two other sales at ClaySpace. Members may also exhibit work in Gallery 107 at ClaySpace and other venues.
