Jerry Abend

Artists Bio

Jerry Abend has been doing ceramics for over 15 years.  He began clay work at Harper College’s ceramics studio.  During that time he developed his wheel throwing, handbuilding, glazing, and raku techniques.  After moving to the western suburbs he became a Resident Artist at ClaySpace.

At ClaySpace Jerry has taught classes for children where they discovered the fun of working with clay. He has been counselor for the Boy Scouts’ Pottery & Sculpture merit badges, and he has taught sessions for Brownies and Girl Scouts who are pursuing the Ceramics and Clay badge.  Also, Jerry has helped manage the ClaySpace Website.
